Career Guidance – Interior Design Course
The Interior Design Course at MMSID is committed to helping students make informed decisions about their career, higher education, and professional development. Career guidance is an integral part of the learning process, enabling students to understand the diverse opportunities available in the field of interior design and related disciplines.
The department organises career guidance sessions, guest lectures, alumni interactions, industry talks, workshops, and professional counselling sessions to familiarise students with various career pathways. Practising interior designers, architects, consultants, industry professionals, and successful alumni share their experiences and provide valuable insights into the profession.
Students are guided towards diverse career opportunities such as Interior Designer, Interior Stylist, Set Designer, Exhibition Designer, Furniture Designer, Kitchen and Wardrobe Designer, 3D Visualiser, Design Consultant, Project Coordinator, and Design Entrepreneur. They are also encouraged to explore opportunities in architecture and allied creative industries.
Guidance is provided on portfolio development, resume preparation, interview skills, professional communication, internships, freelancing, entrepreneurship, and higher education. Students are encouraged to participate in competitions, exhibitions, workshops, and industry projects to strengthen their professional profiles and build confidence.
The department also maintains a strong connection with its alumni and industry network, helping students understand current market requirements and emerging trends in the profession. Placement drives and industry interactions further support students in transitioning from academic life to professional practice.
